Path of about 7 km - Challenging course

Starting point: Piazza della Fontana in Sant'Ilario

This route starts from Sant'Ilario in Campo from the main square of the village. The route consists of a long dirt track, so we recommend wearing suitable excursion shoes and equip themselves with a water bottle.

From the Sant’Ilario parking we take the dirt road that runs next to the football pitch. Abandoning the periphery of the village of Sant’Ilario we will meet cultivated terraces and gardens. We will overcome a bridge where we could see for the first time the arrival destination of Airport of Marina di Campo.

The cart is spread flat, twists and turns, following the morphology of the ground pattern, dominated by the massif of Monte Perone. After a small pine forest, we meet in a picnic area for, where starts a path that goes up the mountain; the pitch opens an evocative glimpse on Sant’Ilario, on San Piero and on the tower of San Giovanni.

Then the road begins to descend and reach the junction with the track that goes from Procchio, where we find two houses. Proceed down the hill that dominates the plain of the airport, later we find other buildings from rural characteristics. We approach the last stretch of road characterized by charming villas and emerge into the road that connects Marina di Campo at Procchio, near the airport of the Elba Island.
