Mausoleo pathway



Leaving from the main road of Parata, it begins the Mausoleo pathway that is 1 km far from tourist village of Cavo. In the 2015 it has been opened to the local biker in winter. The pathway begins travelling the old military road, in the past it linked Cavo with the marine traffic light on the top of Monte Rosso. 

After the first kilometer climbing in a very techinical way, it climbs along the pathway 61 GTE (GRAN TRAVERSATA ELBANA), a very amused stretch immerged in the mediterranean scrub, with a wonderfoul sight of Cavo, on Piombino channel, on Palmaloia Island.

Getting over the Agriturismo Armando it follows towards the Mausoleo, imponent torrion built by the architect Adolfo Coppedè, for the famiglia Tonietti as Tonietti family grave and as monument for Giuseppe Tonietti, first tennant of Elban mines.

The patwhay following across the wood holm oaks towards Capo Vita, untill to get the northern part of Cavo just right the beautiful coves of Frugoso and Cala delle Alghe.
