Marina di Campo – Galenzana

In front of the mooring of vessels in the port area of ​​Marina di Campo there is Piazza Teseo Tesei. From this point just in front of Sali e Tabacchi shop there is the Piazza Giovanni da
Verrazzano from which we will start our journey to reach the Galenzana beach.

The path in the initial part winds along the staircase of Via Bellavista, through the picturesque and historic village inhabited in the past by fishermen of Marina di Campo. When you arrive in the highest part of the village as well as the stunning view of the Gulf of Marina di Campo, you can find the path marked with a white and red sign n°39. We can walk along the path bordered on one side by some fences belonging to the villas and we continue along a paved road that will come on a wide-open space from which few paths.

On our left is easy to identify the Galenzana gulf and its quiet beach. We continue our journey along the dirt cart road, which goes down that way between the Mediterranean and along a stone wall. On the trail, we will meet a small chapel, the height of which will meet the path that leads down to the beach protected by a wooden handrail.

After a dip in the green Mediterranean zone, you can easily reach the beautiful Galenzana beach characterized by its golden sandy and a bay sheltered from the wind and currents. The beach seems wild and free services with vegetation growing on the dunes behind the beach where there is also an old villa with a direct view to the sea.

N.B: Galenzana the beach is also a great place to seek peace for a swim in summer away from the tourist mass crowding the beach of Marina di Campo and also a great place to snorkel. We recommend the use of suitable sandals or shoes to enter the water because of the rocks particularly sharp.
