Boys in danger

We receive and publish:

Dear Courier , may I ask you hospitality in the hope that your authoritative intervention, to the proper authorities, may provide a bit of peace to everyone, and they are not a few, who is forced to pass by car, or by bike or with a calash in the Ponticello area.

Since people have inhabited the new blocks of council housing in Carducci street, from morning time there have been always swarming boys who continuously cross the main street of Portoferraio without care for the danger.  

I am still in shock for what I have experienced few hours ago when, crossing that street with the car of the SEDE, I have almost run over a boy who suddenly crossed the street, and I still don't know how I managed not to(you can call my friend and witness Gianpaolo who was sitting next to me).

Having stopped the car, I went out pushed by a strong impulse to react and I got in front of a lot of people (men and women) who agreed on the fact that these kind of accidents were happening very often and that nobody hadn't yet denounced those who should be in charge of these kids' discipline as they represented danger and responsibility for anyone driving a car or any other transport.
It is easy to say: their fault… even if you run over them you are completely fine!

Bollocks dear Courier. I am well aware, and all the smart people will agree with me that, if I had run over that guy this evening and caused his death, I would have dragged this regret all my life despite the fact I would have been fine in front of the law.

Therefore, I first of all recall the attention of all the parents and then the authorities in order to cease this kind of dangers and worries for those who are driving with any type of transport in a public street.

Editor's note.) -  It is essential that the interested families encourage their children to be careful and avoid painful incidents; a bit of surveillance would also be appropriate where the traffic is intense and where there are many chances for tragedy to happen.
