Vigilanti Theater
The Vigilanti Theatre is located in the old town of Portoferraio, in Gramsci Square, only a short walk from Napoleon's Villa dei Mulini. Today the theatre hosts many important theatrical shows with a rich program.
These days, the Vigilanti Theatre looks like a small wonderful treasure in the historical and cultural scene of the whole island and hosts many famous artists and academics. It was wisely renovated at the end of 2000 and regained its original beauty and decor.
After having been abandoned in the 80's, it got renovated and is today stage for many important theatrical shows such as the international Elba European Music Festival directed by masters Yuri Bashmet e George Edelman. The festival takes place each year since 1997 between the end of August and the beginning of September.
