Description of Grigolo Beach
The beach of Grigolo is located into the old town of Portoferraio, in front of the High School. Although it is easy to reach, it is less popular and uncrowded, mainly frequented by those who want to swim with their dog. The first stretch of the shore is characterized by seaweed, gravels and rocks and along it there are some boats pulled ashore.
The second part of the beach is located below the old fort and it is more free and wide mainly characterized by gravels. The beach has no services, but they are guaranteed by the proximity to the old town of Portoferraio.
Access to Grigolo beach
The beach is within walking distance from the old town center of Portoferraio. At the end of the promenade, underpass the walls and walk in front of a bakery, then continue along Via dell'Amore and turn right into the underpass that leads to the headquarters of the Lega Navale Italiana, which stands in front of the beach. The second entrance is in Via Carlo Bini, but in both cases access is restricted from 8:00 until 19:00.
