The Chestnuts legend

The chestnuts legend

The devil has always tried to obstruct the divine works of God. According to a legend this is what happened when God gave to the people of the mountain the chestnut which was only protected with a thin shell easy to peel.
The devil then covered the chestnut with spines making the harvest more difficult. Though God noticed it and with a blessing gesture marked the chestnut with a cross. From that moment on, chestnuts opens up naturally, making the nice and brights fruits easy to be collected by men without suffering.
