The Church of Santa Chiara



The Church of Santa Chiara was built in 1776 at Marciana Marina. In front of the Church appears the square, the main square of the municipality and place of many summer events.
The facade of the Church consists of an only nave with four columns, and it is characterized by a nice cornice.

The Baptistery is made by marble and the choir is located at a raised floor above the main entrance and has got a reed organ by 1829.

At the middle of the nave there is the mayor altar, whole realized by marble. At both sides of the Church are located showcases within holy decors and a statue portraying Madonna Addolorata with the dead Jesus in her arms.
