Description of Nisporto beach
The beautiful wild beach of Nisporto is located in the northeastern coast of Elba, halfway between the villages of Bagnaia and Cavo. The beach of Nisporto is protected by its homonymous gulf, which surrounds it as a horseshoe where the sides are two promontories covered by Mediterranean vegetation. The cove is characterized by crystal clear waters, especially when the sirocco blows.
The shore of Nisporto is composed by sand mixed with colored gravels and pebbles. The central part is best suitable to families with children, as the seabed slopes gently into the sea, while on the left side of the beach you can admire an old furnace constructed of brick and stone, which was used to bake limestone obtained from the nearby mountain, producing lime for buildings.
Along the coast, on either side of the beach, there are some comfortable rocks for sunbathing and have greater peace of mind.
On the beach there are rentals of umbrellas and paddle boats, as well as bar and restaurant.
Access to the beach of Nisporto
You can easily reach the beach by car, parking just behind of it. In order to get to Nisporto, whether you are coming from Bagnaia or Rio nell'Elba, you have to drive for a while on a curvy dirt road, about 5 km long but with beautiful panoramas.
