Description of Torre beach in Rio Marina
The beach is small and composed of medium-fine smooth pebbles mixed with dark sand. It is located at the foot of the sixteenth century Tower of the Appiani (erected in 1534), behind the port of Rio Marina. On the beach there are no services except some showers, but you can walk to the bars and restaurants of the village by foot, given their proximity to the beach. Also from the village of Rio Marina you can reach a second beach located within the marina. This, however, is generally less popular for bathing and often occupied by small boats pulled ashore.
Access to Torre di Rio beach
To reach the beach you need to park your car in one of the car parks in the village of Rio Marina and walk along the promenade of Spiazzi until you reach the Appian Tower of Rio Marina's harbor. The beach is located right at the tower's base behind the port's breakwater.
