Description of Le Ghiaie beach

This is a large white pebbly beach located near the old town of Portoferraio and therefore you can reach it on foot. Its waters, which are located in a biological marine reserve, are very nice and therefore highly appreciated by divers, among which the wild looking islet of Scoglietto has become very popular. The beach is characterized by white pebbles smoothed by the sea and it offers many beach services, such as rentals where you can get umbrellas, sunbeds and paddle boats.

Given its proximity to the town and its ease of access, it is very busy in high season. Nearby there are Hotels, B&B and Apartments for rent where you can spend a pleasant holiday on Elba Island.

Access to Le Ghiaie beach

You can reach the beach even on foot by the old town of Portoferraio. There is not much parking space around so it is best to park in one of the large parking lots near the port and walk 5 minutes towards the shore.
